Hello! I’m Joy, a student at the University of Tartu. To get admitted to my program, I took an English test and achieved a high level of proficiency, which reflects my strong command of the language. I genuinely enjoy sharing my knowledge to help others gain confidence, improve fluency, and succeed in English tests or everyday communication.

As a private tutor, my goal is to make learning English simple, practical, and enjoyable. I believe that language is best learned through clear communication, real-life practice, and confidence building, so I design my lessons to focus on both accuracy and fluency.
Teaching Techniques and Methods
I use a student-centered approach, tailoring lessons to each learner’s needs and goals.
My methods include interactive conversations, role-plays, vocabulary building, grammar explanations, and test-style practice exercises.
I encourage learners to speak from the very first lesson, correcting gently to build confidence while improving accuracy.
For test preparation, I guide students with practice questions, exam strategies, and time-management tips.
Structure of a Private Lesson
Warm-up (5–10 mins): quick conversation or review of the last lesson.
Main focus (25–30 mins): depending on student needs, we may cover grammar, vocabulary, speaking practice, or exam skills.
Practical application (10–15 mins): role-plays, writing tasks, or test-style practice.
Feedback & homework (5–10 mins): I give clear feedback and a simple task to reinforce learning.

I am friendly, patient, and encouraging, creating a safe space where mistakes are part of learning.
As a fluent English speaker and Tartu University student, I understand both academic and practical communication needs.
I combine structured learning with fun, conversational practice, so students stay motivated and engaged.
