Teaching Style & Methodology:
My approach is student-centered and goal-oriented. I believe in starting with a clear diagnostic of the student's current level and their specific goals. From there, I build a structured plan. I use the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) method, which focuses on real-life communication and the practical use of the language, rather than just memorizing grammar rules from a textbook. I aim to get the student speaking as much as possible from lesson one.
A Typical Lesson:
"A standard lesson is 60 minutes. We usually start with a 5-minute 'warm-up' conversation to get you thinking in English. Then, we'll spend 15-20 minutes on a specific skill or concept (like a tricky grammar point or vocabulary for a specific situation). The core of the lesson, about 30 minutes, is dedicated to active practice—this could be a discussion, a role-play, or working through a writing sample. We'll end with a 5-minute review of what we learned and a preview of the next lesson's topic."
